You'll love the result of the professionally designed interior by D’Ette Cole Design and upon entering, you are immediately overwhelmed by a sense of place. A serious folly and true laid-back style of layered artwork and decor. Although many of the owners personal possessions are precious, they don’t take their collections so serious that you can’t enjoy them as well.

Look around at the artwork, old fashioned record player and other treasures. Although the style is chic, the result is super comfortable and relaxing. The living room leather sofas have mood lighting for romantic evenings, yet is functional enough for the kids to play checkers.

Every room is completed outfitted with color coordinated linens for your stay, with complementary designer sheets and plush bath towels. In the kitchen you'll find a wide range of spices, wifi and wall of windows overlooking the river.

The spacious bunk room overlooks the river, with deep green walls that make the room feel cool and cozy. Wood floors and funky work lighting fixtures hang over each bed, while the walls have deer antler decor. Wicker baskets hold a pile of classic children's books. There are solid, matching platform beds, while a corner cast iron twin bed is piled high with pillows. This is the room everyone will want to cocoon in.

The second bedroom is more intimate, with artwork and layered, matching bedding. There are (2) queen platform beds, a quaint rocking chair and walls have super fun cowboy decor and speed limit sign. A white oval mirror hangs above a turquoise table with a cowboy boot light. Large and spacious, this room is sure to delight.

The first bathroom has tile floor, pedestal sink, high impact lighting, lots of storage, toiletries such ads hairdryer, cotton balls and other vanity staples, with a cactus designer shower curtain in front of a natural stone shower.

Down the halls wood floors you come to the main attraction: the luxurious master bedroom. Vaulted ceilings, high staged windows for light yet provides ultimate privacy, the room is an ahh moment. Step into a glamorous sleeping space that is over the top, with cool seating, wall maps of the world, while a cowboy hat hangs high over a tall branch that provides accent lighting. Pillows on top of more pillows add layers of neutral black, white and cream bedding.

There is an exterior door leading from the master bedroom to the covered, screened in back porch and river. This covered screened has lots of stylish seating, a second refrigerator and lots of fun wall signs lit with warm party lights. Just off the patio is a custom double designed picnic table, lounge chairs surrounding a fire pit and hammock.

The whole family will enjoy corn hole, playing tetherball, horseshoes or a game of volleyball for ultimate playtime. Walk down a few steps to the concrete balcony overlooking the river with 2 outdoor seating areas of tables & chairs plus a wood burning chiminea overlooking the river.

Hanging outside is serious fun. Stairs lead to a concrete riverbank landing next to massive oak trees along the Frio River. Dive into the fresh, clear Frio River right in your own backyard! There's also another set of lounge chairs alongside the rivers edge.

The lodge sits below the Frio Valley mountain range to the front, while the property backyard is the Frio River! Plenty of parking, lots of room for everyone to spread out, relax and enjoy this is a very special hideaway.

  We enjoyed our stay at Bright Star, being on the river was perfect and lots of fun for the kids. We took our 3-8 yo boys and 3 teenage girls!! They had a blast on the rope swing, kayaking, playing the games outside and the beds and accommodations were very comfortable. We will be back next year for another trip and the kids wants to stay longer. The customer service of Nanette and her husband and was great, we had some questions about what to do and needed a couple of things fixed and they were right on it. Thanks!

  This home was absolutely perfect for us! Plenty of room, and a great huge kitchen where we could all eat together. This home has the perfect access to the river. The depth was just right for the kids, ages 5 to 13, and if we swam a smidge to the right, deep enough for adults. We utilized all of the outdoor amenities, had nightly fires and played volleyball. My ONLY issue is reception, and there is no land line. Also, bring a bug zapper or lots of bug spray and some citronella candles. The beds were very comfy, there are 2 fridges, and lots of games for the kiddos. Perfect location!!
