Nut House

Nut House is a much sought-after vacation home nestled at the bottom of Cat Claw mountain, with large swimming pool and great entertainment area for lots of family and friends. The white rock exterior and metal roof Lodge is situated in a secluded portion of Canyon Oaks just a few blocks from River Road and a few minutes to the 2nd Crossing on the Frio River.

This rustic, two story home has a fantastic, vaulted great room with rock fireplace and comfortable furnishings that make for perfect family size entertaining. There are (2) downstairs bedrooms: a spacious master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and another bedroom with (2) queen beds and a separate bathroom.

A rustic cedar, open staircase leads upstairs to the large bunkroom with ensuite bathroom, with sturdy bunkbeds and futon.

This is a great place for those wanting to celebrate in a private location surrounded by cedar trees, watch abundant wildlife and enjoy mountain views. With two large rock patios, outdoor rock fireplace and barbecue smoker there's plenty of places for s'mores. Relax on the quaint porch swing, play a game of volleyball, swap stories around the fire pit, or play competition horseshoes.

Nut House is a fun choice for those wanting a laid back vacation vibe coupled with effortless outdoor entertaining and nights with serious star gazing.

  We had about 20 peolpe stay and we all had a great weekend. Had a few miner things that needed fixed but they fixed then in a timely manor. It was more than we expected. It was worth every penny we spent. The only things was we had to get two fans to help keep it cool upstairs and The horseshoe pit was great but if there was sand around the stakes it would have made it score better.

  The home was wonderful, we loved staying here. The microwave stopped working and they were super great about getting it fixed right away. The only downfall about this property is we could not turn the AC under 74 degrees. When you have 20 people in a home in the summer, it gets really hot but we had brought extra fans anyways so it worked out.
